San Francisco 49ers running back Jordan Mason (shoulder) had a nice three games as a great fantasy option due to the injury and absence of lead RB Christian McCaffrey (Achilles). Unfortunately, his production fell back to earth, and he failed to score double-digit PPR fantasy points in his last four games.
He was quite efficient, however. He averaged 5.1 yards per carry on the season, scored three touchdowns, and held a clear workhorse role before an injury forced him out of his Week 6 game early. Despite returning and playing the majority of offensive snaps in Week 7, he was again pulled from his Week 8 contest.
The return of CMC should severely cut into his workload as well. Should you drop Mason?

Should I Drop Jordan Mason in Fantasy Football?
If you don't have McCaffrey, and aren't betting on him missing more time (which usually isn't a good strategy anyway), there's not much reason to hang on to his backup. In addition, the shoulder ailment and the high level of play of third-string back Isaac Guerendo further muddies Mason's prospects of producing.

He’s on Bye this week so he may have been overlooked
Guerendo is *currently* the healthiest 49ers RB

The contingent upside of the rookie Guerendo seems much higher. We don't know how 9ers head coach Kyle Shanahan will change the usage of his players. He's not known for heavily using rookies in his offensive scheme, but the pure ability of the freshman back could demand more usage.
Who Should I Pickup in Week 10 Fantasy Football?
CMC managers are in the unfortunate situation of not knowing who to pick up between Guerendo and Mason. For managers who don't have the star 49ers RB, there are a few options on the waiver wire that deserve consideration.
New Cincinnati Bengals running back Khalil Herbert should be picked up and rostered by all fantasy managers who have Chase Brown on their rosters. He'll be the new backup in Cincy, with RB Zack Moss (neck) expected to miss the rest of the season.
Per @MikeGarafolo, Zack Moss is expected to miss the remainder of the regular season with a neck injury.

At this point in the season, there aren't many good options available, but you could take your chances again on Denver Broncos rookie running back Audric Estime. Both of the team's top-2 RBs, Javonte Williams and Jaleel McLaughlin, have been ineffective as rushers, averaging under four yards per carry each.
