Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford (hamstring) is set to take on a smaller role for the team with the return of star running back Nick Chubb (knee). Chubb is expected to play in his first game back since a devastating knee injury ended his 2023 season prematurely.
While Ford has done a solid job with the opportunities he's been given, averaging 5.3 yards per carry, he didn't have a workhorse role even as the starter, and is currently just the RB31 overall in full-PPR scoring. He's been a low-end FLEX play in deeper leagues so far.
So should you drop Jerome Ford ahead of Week 7?

Should I Drop Jerome Ford in Fantasy Football?
He's probably a fine player to drop. In addition to the negatives already stated, he won't play in Week 7 due to a hamstring injury. It's been a frustrating season for Ford owners, and he's likely to be irrelevant in fantasy football when he returns. The clear lead back has returned and will ramp his way up to a workhorse role.

When the third-year pro does return to play, he'll take a clear backseat to Chubb. The 28-year-old is one of the best running backs in the business when healthy, and has three finishes inside the top-15 running backs in full-PPR scoring despite not being a big factor in the passing game.
He averages 5.3 yards per carry on 1,238 carries, which is ridiculous. Even if he's not close to 100%, he won't leave much room for Ford to be productive, who could have some value as a handcuff, but even as the lead back wasn't a great fantasy option.
Who Should I Pickup in Week 7 Fantasy Football?
Waivers have already cleared, but there are still a few running backs in free agency in fantasy leagues who could be worth taking a shot on. If Buffalo Bills running back Ray Davis hasn't been added in your league, he's worth a shot. He's still rostered in just 30% of leagues and is an incredibly valuable handcuff.
#BillsMafia rookie Ray Davis was sensational in his first extended action vs the Jets.
His 152 yards from scrimmage are the most by a rookie in any game in 2024 so far.
Do you think he and James Cook will be in a timeshare moving forward⁉️pic.twitter.com/gHFnDDNXu5

He could have some standalone value after his performance against the New York Jets in Week 6.
Jacksonville Jaguars running back D'Ernest Johnson is an option in deeper leagues. He's handled most of the pass-catching work for Jags running backs in the absence of Travis Etienne Jr. (hamstring) who is questionable for Week 7. If he can't go, Johnson would be a decent start in leagues with 14 or more teams.
