Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford returned from a two-game absence due to injury, but didn't see his old workload again. This shouldn't come as a surprise. RB Nick Chubb, the team's clear lead back, returned and played in his first game back in Week 7 from a devastating knee injury that prematurely ended his 2023 season.
With Chubb back, Ford will now serve as the primary backup back for the team. That doesn't bode well for his production, which was already questionable fantasy-wise. He's not the fantasy football asset he was last year, and it looks like things aren't about to get any better.
So is it time to drop Ford? Who can he be replaced with?

Should I Drop Jerome Ford in Fantasy Football?
Even as a handcuff to Chubb, he's not a great option to have rostered. Emergency backups are always a thing, though, and many Chubb owners will be fine continuing to roster Ford. But if you don't have No. 24 on your roster, No. 34 probably isn't worth continuing to hang on to.
Even with Jerome Ford's return, Nick Chubb dominated touches out of the backfield. Now, due to negative game script, Ford did play more snaps but only had 4 opportunities to Chubb's 16. Chubb is not the same player right now but can be considered a flex or RB2 fill-in in easier…

The RB1 of this team is the only back who is startable when he plays. This is not a backfield that can support two fantasy-relevant rushers -- it's hardly supported one to this point.
Who Should I Pickup in Week 10 Fantasy Football?
Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears (hamstring) is one player you could roster. Though the team's RB1, Tony Pollard, has handled the vast majority of the workload to this point, the coaching staff has been vocal about reducing the workload in an attempt to prevent possible injuries that he could pick up.

Minnesota Vikings running back Cam Akers was recently signed by the team, and actually got eight touches in a close game. It's surprising to see him used this much, considering the lead back, Aaron Jones, had been a workhorse to this point, but it appears the Vikings may not have been satisfied with third-year pro Ty Chandler's production.
