Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Jalen Tolbert had little impact over his first few years in the NFL. However, the former South Alabama star has earned a role on offense this season.
Tolbert is the WR47 for the year, averaging 8.4 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. He has stepped up with Brandin Cooks out of the lineup, totaling 11 or more fantasy points in nearly half of the games in 2024.
However, Tolbert has struggled lately. Should fantasy players hold onto the third-year wide receiver or send him packing? Let’s dive into it.

Should I Drop Jalen Tolbert?
Last week, Tolbert had three receptions for 44 receiving yards and 5.9 fantasy points against the San Francisco 49ers. Unfortunately, he hasn’t scored double-digit fantasy points since Week 5, where the veteran wide receiver had 10 targets and the game-winning touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers, scoring a season-high 18.2 fantasy points.

Fantasy players in 12-team leagues can drop Tolbert. Cooks should return from a knee injury as early as next week against the Philadelphia Eagles. More importantly, the third-year wide receiver has seen five or fewer targets in four of his past five games.
Who Can I Add Off The Waiver Wire?
Hopefully, fantasy players added Cedric Tillman off the waiver wire last week. Tillman is my top target this week if he is still available on the waiver wire. Meanwhile, Xavier Legette is another excellent waiver wire target.
The rookie receiver is rostered in only 15% of Yahoo leagues. Last week, he had four receptions on seven targets for 34 receiving yards, a touchdown, and 11.4 fantasy points against an elite Denver Broncos pass defense.

More importantly, the Carolina Panthers traded away Diontae Johnson earlier today. Adam Thielen could get traded before next week’s deadline, making Legette the No. 1 wide receiver on the team.
