After opening the 2024 fantasy football season with a TE1 finish in Week 1 with 21.6 fantasy points, Isaiah Likely has dropped off the radar outside of a TE4 finish in Week 5. The good news is that Likely has scored 21.6 and 14.8 fantasy points in different games this year.
The bad news is that he's also scored 3.6, 0.9, 3.1, and 3.7 fantasy points, which is the kind of inconsistency that can drive fantasy managers crazy.
Should Likely be dropped in fantasy leagues? Who should be picked up in his place if so? Let's dive in and assess!

Should I Drop Isaiah Likely in Fantasy Football?
Overall, Likely is carving out his niche in the tight end realm with a solid 53% route share this season, snagging a 14.1% target share and clocking in at 1.90 yards per route run (YPRR). He’s the first read on 15.3% of his routes and has become the go-to guy in the red zone with six targets leading the team.
Interestingly, half of those red zone opportunities have popped up in just the last couple of games, signaling an uptick in his scoring chances.

This week, Likely slots in as a savvy streaming option at tight end, especially if you're hunting for someone who might sneak into TE1 territory. The Bucs, his opponent, ranks 16th in fantasy points per game allowed to tight ends, but don't let that middle-of-the-road stat fool you, they've also given up the fourth-most receiving yards to the position.
If you're in a pinch or playing the matchups, Likely could be your guy to punch in some decent numbers this week.
Who Should I Pickup in Week 7 Fantasy Football?
We are at a point in the season where most of the high-priced waiver pickups of 2024 are gone barring any unfortunate injuries.
While Likely has disappointed at times, the Ravens don't have a bye until Week 14, which means he can be safely rostered in most formats for the time being.
2024 has been inconsistent for tight end Mark Andrews as well as Likely, and the Ravens found themselves well ahead in Weeks 3 and 4, which hurt all of their pass catchers stats across the board solely due to the game script.
At this point, the recommendation is to hold onto Likely and see what happens over the next several weeks. While we aren't wishing for injuries, should anything happen to Andrews, likely would become a top five, must-start tight end in all formats.
