The arrival of Davante Adams to Las Vegas was supposed to rocket the Raiders' passing game to new heights. Instead, the primary result has been to concentrate the Raiders' passing volume in the hands of Adams. It has not expanded the pie.
In fact, the Raiders' offense has actually regressed since last season. QB Derek Carr's per-game passing average is lower than it's been in any year since 2017. As you might expect, this hasn't been good for WR Hunter Renfrow.
The Raiders' slot receiver had a breakout year in his third year, 2021, amassing 1,038 receiving yards in 103 receptions and scoring nine touchdowns. But with a new coach, a new receiver taking more targets, and a declining Vegas passing game, Renfrow is having the worst season of his career.

Is it time to cut Hunter Renfrow in fantasy football?
How Is Hunter Renfrow Doing in 2022?
Renfrow hasn't produced efficiently or consistently. He is only averaging 32 yards per game. That's nine fewer than his previous career low.
His targets are down. Since Week 2, he has not been thrown more than four passes in a game. He has only had more than 30 yards in two games. And he hasn’t scored a touchdown.
His effectiveness is down. He is catching fewer of the passes thrown his way, and his 9.1 yards per catch is also the lowest of his career.
How Does Renfrow Go With The Josh McDaniels Offense?
Even when Davante Adams isn't producing, the Raiders don't switch things up and spread the ball around to Renfrow. In Week 8, Adams was shut down by the New Orleans Saints. He was held to just one catch for three yards. But Renfrow was only targeted twice.
Who is to blame?
Is Derek Carr not the signal-caller the Raiders thought he was when they gave him his $120.5 million contract?
Did the front office misjudge how ready this team was to make a Super Bowl run? Almost certainly. Observers knew they couldn’t compete with the Chiefs or Chargers for the AFC West title even if everything went right. But it hasn’t gone right.
The Raiders wouldn’t have won the division, but they should have had a better offense. Last season, even after Henry Ruggs III’s career went down in flames, Derek Carr was throwing for more yards than he is now with Davante Adams.
The Raiders roster is better than last year. The only major downgrade is the coach. Josh McDaniels can’t escape blame.
Should You Drop Hunter Renfrow in Fantasy Football?
Hunter Renfrow hasn’t ever finished higher than WR34 (PPR) in a week. His average finish is WR57. On the season, he is WR58.
That means in the average week in a 12-team league, you would have to start five WRs for him to be worthy of a starting spot. There are not many leagues that deep. It would be more likely for you to find a streamer at WR or RB who is stepping up due to injury or a matchup opportunity to start at the flex rather than Renfrow.
The Raiders' season is finished, and there is no reason to think they will turn it around. Hunter Renfrow’s time taking up a roster spot should be finished too. Cut him with no second thought.
