Emari Demercado was a popular waiver wire add last week after a knee injury sent James Conner to the Injured Reserve. Demercado had 10 carries for 45 yards and a touchdown in the game where Conner was injured.
That led to many adding Demercado, working under the theory that he was going to be Arizona's starting running back until Conner returned. But after struggling in Week 6, where does that leave Demercado?
Should fantasy managers drop Emari Demercado this week? Read on for the fantasy football drop analysis on the Cardinals running back.

Can Emari Demercado Be A Reliable Fantasy Option?
Many thought Demercado was going to steal the show in Arizona this past week against the Los Angeles Rams, but that turned out to not be the case. He had just two carries for 11 yards in the game and brought in his only target for six yards.
Demercado got snaps, playing 33 of them in the game, the most of any Cardinals running back. But he was mostly in the game on passing plays, with the Cardinals taking advantage of his pass-blocking ability. Damien Williams, who played just 13 snaps, had eight carries, while Keaontay Ingram, who played 28 snaps, led the team with 10 carries.
With this kind of usage, Demercado doesn't look to have much fantasy relevance at this point. You simply can't play someone who is only going to get three touches.
Can I Drop Emari Demercado in Fantasy Football?
Based on last week's usage, there's really no reason to have Demercado on your fantasy roster right now. The process of picking him up was fine, because I don't think anyone really expected the Cardinals to bring in Damien Williams, who had a total of two carries last season with the Falcons and is 31 years old.
But the Cardinals did. Demercado is third in the pecking order among the current options in Arizona, and that's without even factoring in the upcoming return of James Conner.
Because of this, Emari Demercado should not be on your roster in the majority of season-long fantasy leagues. He can safely be dropped.
