The Las Vegas Raiders, sitting at 6-9, have disappointed in Josh McDaniels' inaugural season as the organization's head coach. McDaniels and the Raiders' underwhelming year has been slightly overshadowed by the utter failure of the Denver Broncos this year.
Derek Carr, supplied with former college teammate Davante Adams, has produced a lackluster season of his own. With two weeks to spare in the 2022 NFL season, Carr sits as the QB15 in fantasy, averaging 15.5 points per game.
The 31-year-old from Fresno State has thrown nine interceptions over the last five weeks and many fantasy owners are considering dropping the veteran from their fantasy roster. Should you drop Derek Carr?

Is Derek Carr A Fantasy Football QB1?
Derek Carr has five weekly finishes inside the top-10 quarterbacks this year and has topped 21 fantasy points just once this year.
This year, Carr is averaging nearly 50 fewer passing yards per game compared to last year. The emergence of Josh Jacobs and the Vegas run game has lightened their signal caller's load.
Carr has been especially putrid over the past three weeks. The nine-year veteran is averaging 11.4 PPG and has thrown six interceptions during the stretch.
Can I Drop Derek Carr in Fantasy Football?
If you're in a SuperFlex, 2QB, or Dynasty league, Derek Carr should remain on your roster. Carr is averaging more points per game than reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers, Deshaun Watson, and Russell Wilson this year.
For standard leagues starting just one quarterback, the odds are Derek Carr isn't bringing much value to your team this year. The longtime Raider field general has one weekly finish inside the top-eight quarterbacks.
This is likely the last week of your fantasy season. Carr goes up against a San Francisco secondary allowing the fifth-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks this year. He is dispensable ahead of Week 17.
Should I Start Derek Carr in Week 17 Fantasy Football?
Just three quarterbacks have topped 250 passing yards against the San Francisco 49ers this year.
The 49ers' defense is fourth in the league with 15 interceptions and has allowed the fourth-fewest passing touchdowns with 16.
Unless you have had unfortunate luck with the likes of Kyler Murray, Russell Wilson, or Matthew Stafford this year, your starting lineup come championship week should have a restraining order on Derek Carr.
