Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins was once one of the top wide receivers in the NFL. After dominating during his time with the Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals, the veteran wide receiver has slowed down with the Titans.
However, he was a solid fantasy wide receiver in 2023. Hopkins finished the year as the WR22, averaging 10.9 half-point PPR fantasy points per game despite playing on one of the worst offenses in the league.
Unfortunately, the veteran has struggled over the first two weeks this season. Should fantasy players drop Hopkins heading into Week 3? Let’s dive into it.

Should I Drop DeAndre Hopkins?
The veteran is the WR105, averaging 1.4 fantasy points per game. Hopkins has two receptions on three targets for 17 receiving yards this year. However, he is dealing with a knee injury and has been on a snap count.
#Titans HC Brian Callahan on DeAndre Hopkins’ (knee) expected snap count after only playing 17 snaps:
“Likely to be closer to full. Still be mindful of what we’re asking as he gets in shape and starts to feel better and better. But, yeah, I see his role increasing.” pic.twitter.com/725Fja4RB9

Hopkins could turn things around over the next few weeks. However, the Titans’ passing attack is wildly inconsistent. More importantly, the veteran receiver isn’t healthy and won’t be a consistent part of the offense. Fantasy players in 12-team leagues or smaller can drop Hopkins this week.
Replacement Wide Receiver Waiver Wire Targets
There are several appealing wide receiver targets on the waiver wire in Week 3. Jauan Jennings has averaged 6.8 fantasy points per game over the first two weeks. However, the veteran will see an uptick in targets and snaps, with Deebo Samuel suffering a calf strain that will force him to miss a few games.

Another excellent waiver wire target is Darnell Mooney. The Atlanta Falcons played significantly better in Week 2 after an awful opening week performance. Mooney had three receptions on seven targets for 88 receiving yards and a touchdown on Monday night, scoring 16.3 fantasy points. If Kirk Cousins is healthy, the veteran wide receiver has flex appeal moving forward.
