New York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard has been a pleasant surprise this season. The veteran wide receiver is the WR16 for the year, averaging 12.3 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.
Lazard has been a touchdown machine for New York, totaling five receiving scores in 2024, including one in two of his past three contests. More importantly, he has scored double-digit fantasy points in 57.1% of his games this season.
However, should fantasy players drop Lazard? Let’s take a look at his fantasy football outlook.

Should I Drop Allen Lazard?
The Jets traded for Davante Adams a few weeks ago, making Lazard the No. 3 wide receiver behind the superstar and Garrett Wilson. The veteran is dealing with a chest injury that has him week-to-week after missing Sunday’s loss to the New England Patriots. While fantasy players in deeper leagues (16 or more teams) can consider holding onto Lazard, most fantasy players can drop the veteran wide receiver.

Who Can I Add Off The Waiver Wire?
Fantasy players have their choice of wide receiver options on the wavier wire this week. However, Cedric Tillman is my favorite of the bunch. The second-year wide receiver is rostered in only 20% of Yahoo leagues despite having back-to-back impressive fantasy performances.
Tillman barely played over the first six weeks with Amari Cooper in town, totaling five targets. However, he had eight receptions on 12 targets for 81 receiving yards and 14.1 fantasy points in Week 7. More importantly, the second-year pro was even better in Week 8.
The former Tennessee star had seven receptions on nine targets for 99 receiving yards and 25.4 fantasy points against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, scoring his first two career touchdowns in the win.

While the Browns don’t have an elite offense, Jameis Winston makes their wide receiver core appealing for fantasy players. Tillman is my favorite, making him my top target off the waiver wire this week.
