The Green Bay Packers have started the season out 1-1 but injuries have followed along already. Christian Watson has yet to see the field for the regular season, David Bakhtiari is still sidelined, and Aaron Jones missed Week 2 versus the Atlanta Falcons with a hamstring injury.
Tied for first place in the NFC North with the Detroit Lions, the Packers have very little room for error if they want to make the playoffs this season. Having a player like AJ Dillon to step up when Aaron Jones misses a game is crucial.
However, what is Dillon's fantasy football value going forward? Should you keep him or drop him? Let's break it down.

Is AJ Dillon A Top Fantasy Football RB?
AJ Dillon has been here before in previous seasons. The only difference is Jordan Love is now under center. Many have questions about how the Packers would run the offense, but there are still some answers to be found.
They are averaging just 276.5 yards per game through two weeks. With 88 yards per game coming by the ground attack, the volume has been there but the yardage has not.
With Aaron Jones on the field in Week 1, Dillon still outcarried him 13 to nine but only rushed for 19 yards. In Week 2 as the main back, Dillon carried the ball 15 times but only rushed for 55 yards. The workload and volume are there for him. With no other running back on the depth chart threatening Dillon for his spot, the opportunities will be there.
Should I Drop AJ Dillon in Fantasy Football?
The Packers' offense may not be as electric as it was with Aaron Rodgers under center, but there are many opportunities for the running back group. With 13 carries in Week 1 and 15 carries in Week 2, Dillon deserves a roster spot on fantasy football teams.
Not only is the volume there for the running back duo, Aaron Jones has a history of injuries. Dealing with hamstring and knee injuries since 2017, he can be out at any given moment, shooting Dillon to the top of the depth chart.
Should I Start AJ Dillon in Week 3 if Aaron Jones is Out?
Without much news on Aaron Jones and his hamstring injury, it's a wait-and-see approach with AJ Dillon. Not only that, the Packers will be facing the New Orleans Saints, who have success at stopping opposing running backs.
The Saints gave up 90 yards rushing in Week 1 and it took four different Carolina Panthers running backs to rush for 100 yards in Week 2. Through the two weeks, the Saints have yet to allow a rushing touchdown.
Depending on your depth at the position or even dealing with injuries on your roster, AJ Dillon should be a last-resort option to start this week. Green Bay is at the bottom of the pack when it comes to producing on offense, passing, or throwing. A better matchup would be needed for AJ Dillon to take up a starting spot in your lineup.
