New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers was expected to put up big numbers with his new array of weapons, including wide receiver Garrett Wilson and running back Breece Hall, but that hasn't come to pass so far this year. Instead, he's been much worse than expected.
The Jets have not been great this year, and their offense has not met expectations. They're the eighth-worse offensive attack in the NFL this season, averaging just 18.8 points per game. They've been worse than many offenses who have lost multiple star players to injury, like the Los Angeles Rams, who were without Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua for a stretch.
So should you drop Rodgers in fantasy ahead of Week 9?

Should I Drop Aaron Rodgers in Fantasy Football?
We've had eight weeks of football, a change in offensive play-callers, and trade for WR Davante Adams, but no big improvement in the Jets offense. Rodgers was heralded as a savior for the franchise, a still-elite thrower of the football, and the piece that would finally push the team over the edge. None of that has been the case.

Former QB Zach Wilson, seen as one of the worst in the league and quickly dumped by the team after the 2023 season, led the team to a 4-4 record under the same coaching staff (except for a few weeks without Robert Saleh this year). That would've sounded insane before the season started.
However, that's the reality we now live in. That said, ARod is the QB14 on the season. The stat sheet isn't as bad as the games have looked, and he's still a serviceable starter in deeper leagues and a must-start option in 2QB and Superflex leagues. There's not much reason to drop him. Perhaps Adams can improve as the season wears on.
Who Should I Pickup in Week 9 Fantasy Football?
You probably won't find many quarterbacks who are clearly better than Rodgers that aren't on rosters, but Cleveland Browns quarterback Jameis Winston is an absolute gunslinger that isn't afraid to turn the ball over a few times. Luckily for us, TD passes count for twice the points that interceptions take away.
Jameis Winston’s first drive:
* 20-yard completion
* 19-yard completion
* 16-yard completion
* 12-yard completionAnd a “I really have no idea where Jameis was throwing.”

There aren't a whole lot more good options. Waivers tend to be pretty barren this time of year.
