The 2023 regular season season is almost here. That means fantasy players have less than a month to complete all of their fantasy football drafts.
One of the toughest decisions fantasy players have to make every year is deciding between two similar options. Since fantasy players can’t possibly draft both guys, they must make the hard decision on which player to pick.
Today we look at whether fantasy players should draft Tony Pollard or Derrick Henry.

Should I Draft Tony Pollard?
According to the RotoBaller ADP, Pollard is the eighth running back off the board and a mid-to-late second-round pick in 12-team leagues. Last year the former Memphis star had a breakout season.
The star running back had 193 rushing attempts for 1,007 yards and nine touchdowns in 2022, all career-highs. Furthermore, Pollard had 39 receptions on 55 targets for 371 receiving yards and three touchdowns last season, setting career highs in every category.
He was the RB7 last season, averaging 14.3 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. However, many believe the former Memphis star has even more upside this year.
Last year Pollard had a terrific season despite splitting the backfield with Ezekiel Elliott. The veteran running back had 231 rushing attempts for 876 yards and 12 touchdowns, leading the team in rushing attempts and touchdowns. With Elliott out of the way, Pollard will see an uptick in touches.
Should I Draft Derrick Henry?
Every season fantasy players believe it will be the year that Henry finally regresses. However, that season seems to happen. The superstar is the seventh running back off the board and a mid-to-late second-round pick in 12-team leagues, according to the RotoBaller ADP.
Last year Henry was once again outstanding, totaling 349 rushing attempts for 1,538 yards and 13 touchdowns. Furthermore, he led the NFL in rushing attempts.
More importantly, the superstar had a career year in the passing game. Henry had 33 receptions on 41 targets for 398 receiving yards last season.
Opposing defenses have gone all out at stopping the superstar running back for years. While you would think stacking the box against Henry would slow him down, that isn’t the case. The former Alabama star is unstoppable, even against a stacked box.
While both running backs are worthy of their second-round ADP, Pollard offers more upside and is the better pick. Henry has age and mileage concerns. Furthermore, the Tennessee Titans added DeAndre Hopkins a few weeks ago, meaning they won’t need to rely on the superstar running back as much.
