The 2024 NFL Draft had several talented wide receiver prospects. Marvin Harrison Jr. was the first selected, going fourth overall to the Arizona Cardinals. However, six other wide receivers were selected on Day 1 of the NFL Draft.
After Harrison, Malik Nabers, and Rome Odunze came off the board, Brian Thomas Jr. was the fourth wide receiver selected in the first round. The Jacksonville Jaguars drafted the former LSU star to replace Calvin Ridley.
While Keon Coleman wasn’t a first-round pick, he was the top pick of the second round. The Buffalo Bills drafted the former Florida State star after trading back twice on Day 1 of the NFL Draft. Let’s look at all three rookies’ 2024 fantasy football outlook.

Marvin Harrison Jr. 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
Harrison was the top wide receiver in college football over the past two years, totaling over 1,200 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns in back-to-back seasons at Ohio State. The star rookie will be among the league leaders in targets in 2024 as Kyler Murray’s No. 1 wide receiver. Despite the defense knowing the ball is going to Harrison, he has been unstoppable during training camp.

Keon Coleman 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
The Bills made massive changes at the wide receiver position in the offseason. Gabe Davis and Stefon Diggs are no longer with the team, getting replaced by Curtis Samuel and Coleman. Despite not being a first-round pick, the rookie is the best candidate to be Josh Allen’s No. 1 wide receiver this year. While Coleman struggled with separation in college, the big-bodied receiver has made some highlight-reel plays in practice.

Brian Thomas Jr. 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
While Thomas was considered a first-round pick lock, no one put him in the same category as the big three rookie receivers. However, he played well in the later part of training camp. Furthermore, the rookie’s hype is picking up significant steam. The Jaguars drafted Thomas to replace Ridley but didn’t expect him to make an impact in Week 1. That is no longer the expectation.
Calvin Ridley was the WR10 in expected Fantasy points per game in 2023 according to the @FantasyPtsData Suite.

Who Should I Draft in Fantasy Football?
Fantasy players should draft Harrison well ahead of Coleman and Thomas. The former Ohio State star is a far superior prospect and will be the No. 1 target for the Cardinals.
Meanwhile, Coleman and Thomas are solid mid-round picks as high-end-upside WR4s. Fantasy players should be happy drafting either player. However, I give the slight lean to Coleman because of his quarterback and lack of target competition.
