The 2023 regular season season is almost here. That means fantasy players have only a few weeks to complete all of their fantasy football drafts.
One of the toughest decisions fantasy players have to make every year is deciding between two similar options. Since fantasy players can’t possibly draft both guys, they must make the hard decision on which player to pick.
Today we look at whether fantasy players should draft Joe Mixon or Breece Hall.

Should I Draft Joe Mixon?
According to the RotoBaller ADP, Mixon is a fourth-round pick in 12-team leagues and the 13th running back off the board. Last year the veteran was the RB12, averaging 15 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. However, he was the RB8 on a points-per-game basis after missing three contests.
The Cincinnati Bengals lost Samaje Perine in free agency. While Chris Evans has had a strong preseason, Mixon will take on most of Perine’s workload in the passing game.
Last year Perine had an 8.6% target share, ranking 26th among running backs. Meanwhile, Mixon had 60 receptions on 75 targets for 441 receiving yards, all career highs. With the veteran running back now in Denver, some in the fantasy football community believe the former Oklahoma star will have a top-10 fantasy season.
Should I Draft Breece Hall?
The former Iowa State star was outstanding as a rookie. Hall was the RB6, averaging 15.1 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. The rookie running back was an explosive runner, averaging 5.8 yards per rushing attempt and 4.13 yards after contact per attempt. Unfortunately, a torn ACL ended his season after only seven matchups.
According to the RotoBaller ADP, Hall is a fourth-round pick in 12-team leagues and the 14th running back off the board. While the former Iowa State star missed 10 games last year, he was the RB7 on a points-per-game basis, averaging 15.1 half-point PPR fantasy points per contest.
More importantly, the second-year running back recently came off the Physically Unable to Perform list. Hall looked like his old self in his first training camp practice this year.
Who Should I Draft?
Both running backs are solid fantasy football players. However, one comes with significantly more risk.
The New York Jets recently signed Dalvin Cook, giving up a talented 1-2 punch in the backfield. With Hall coming off the torn ACL, New York wants to be cautious with his long-term help.
Fantasy players should feel confident drafting Mixon at his ADP. Meanwhile, they should only draft Hall if he slides a round or two.
