The Chicago Bears have assembled an impressive wide receiver corps for rookie quarterback Caleb Williams. They have incumbent starter DJ Moore and added veteran Keenan Allen and rookie Rome Odunze this offseason.
Moore and Allen figure to lead the depth chart. Allen has had a long and productive career, while Moore enjoyed a fine 2023 as the team's top pass-catcher.
So, which receiver should fantasy football players target this year? Let’s take a few minutes and discuss.

Who is the Chicago Bears WR1?
Moore is coming off a career year in his first season with Chicago. He set career highs in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns. It resulted in a PPR WR6 finish.

Allen joined the Bears after the team made a trade with the Los Angeles Chargers. He’s coming off a strong 2023, but he did miss four games with a heel injury. This marked the second straight season that Allen has missed time due to injury.
While Allen’s play did not decline last year, there have been some less-than-ideal reports about his weight and how he’s looked in Bears camp/practices. Allen also finished the preseason 287th in PFF’s receiving grade. This is not exactly what you want to see from a 32-year-old player.
Chicago also recently signed Moore to a contract extension while Allen is essentially playing on a one-year contract. It seems to safe assume that Moore will be featured as the team’s WR1 once again in 2024.
Who Should I Draft in Fantasy Football?
Moore is currently the first Bears receiver going off draft boards. He has a Yahoo Sports ADP of 39.5 overall. Allen is going approximately four rounds later with an ADP of 83.3 overall. Between these two players, Moore is the preferred pick. He’s younger and the organization has shown its commitment to him by rewarding him with a contract extension.
Allen has long been a fantasy stalwart, but the news surrounding him this offseason raises an eyebrow. At 32 years old, we may begin to see a decline. We also cannot ignore the fact Allen has missed 11 games due to injury in the last two years. This is another issue that pops up as players age. Father Time always wins.
With ninth-overall pick Rome Odunze waiting in the wings behind him, Allen may not get much leeway if he gets off to a slow start. Gamers can safely lock Moore in as Chicago’s WR1. He should be drafted as such.
