New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton has played well recently. The veteran receiver was the subject of trade talks earlier this season, but that changed with the Giants winning games.
The former Auburn Tiger is averaging only 5.3 half-point PPR fantasy points per game this season, making him the WR72 for the year.
However, he has picked up his play lately. Slayton is the WR31 over the past four weeks, averaging 8.9 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.

Should I Add Darius Slayton Off The Waiver Wire?
Furthermore, the veteran receiver has scored 9.1 or more half-point PPR fantasy points in three of the past four games. He saw at least six targets in all three games, including two straight.
More importantly, Slayton has become a trusted target for Daniel Jones. Last week the veteran made a couple of impressive receptions, including one where a defensive passing interference penalty should have gotten called.
While Slayton has played well for the Giants lately, is he worth adding off the waiver wire?
Fantasy players in deeper leagues should add the veteran receiver to their roster. He is available in 97.6% of ESPN leagues. However, the Giants have their bye this week, so Slayton isn’t a starting option this week.
Who Else Should I Consider On The Waiver Wire?
The New York receiver is a solid addition for fantasy players in deeper leagues. However, standard-size league players should look at some other options.
The first two names fantasy players should look for are Joshua Palmer and Romeo Doubs. Both are rostered in roughly 50% of ESPN leagues. If either is available on the waiver wire, fantasy players should add them to their roster.
However, a couple of other options I like are Alec Pierce and Damiere Byrd. Fantasy players who want a player with more long-term upside should add Pierce.
Meanwhile, Byrd is a sneaky dart throw or long shot option this week for fantasy players in deeper leagues. Last week the veteran receiver scored 14.2 half-point PPR fantasy points against the Carolina Panthers. He also scored a 47-yard touchdown with roughly two minutes left in the fourth quarter.
After scoring zero fantasy points over the first six weeks of the season, Byrd has found the end zone and scored 14 or more fantasy points in back-to-back games. This week he faces the Los Angeles Chargers, who have surrendered nine receiving touchdowns to wide receivers this season, the fourth-most in the NFL.
