Arizona Cardinals quarterback Colt McCoy wasn't expecting to play football on Monday night. However, due to an in-game injury to starting quarterback Kyler Murray, plans quickly changed.
During the Cardinals' 27-13 loss to the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football, Murray injured himself on a non-contact play and had to be carted off the field. The injury occurred on the team's third offensive play of the game, and tests later revealed a torn ACL for the star signal-caller.
Murray was ruled out for the remainder of the game, and backup McCoy was immediately called in for duty. Should you pick him up in fantasy leagues for Week 15? Let's take a closer look.

What Did Colt McCoy Do in Week 14?
McCoy completed 27 of 40 passes for 246 yards and one interception in the loss to the Patriots, adding five carries for 24 yards.
Replacing a unique talent and star player like Murray was no easy task, and McCoy certainly doesn't have the abilities to play like his star teammate. Without the skills to run out of the pocket like Murray, McCoy was pressured often by the swarming Pats defense, who sacked the QB six times.
McCoy certainly held his own on Monday evening and kept his team in the game for most of the night. However, he will never put up the kind of numbers that fantasy managers desire now or in the future.
Is Colt McCoy A Good Pickup For Week 15 Fantasy Football?
McCoy, 36, is a veteran of the National Football League and knows how to play the quarterback position at the highest level. Unfortunately for fantasy managers, the backup journeyman is probably not the solution.
As the 85th overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the former University of Texas QB has appeared in 55 games in his professional career, with three of those appearances coming in 2022.
In those three games, McCoy has completed 77 passes for 702 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions, while adding 12 carries for 34 yards. Not exactly eye-popping numbers, especially not from a fantasy standpoint.
Should I Pickup Colt McCoy Off the Waiver Wire in Fantasy Football?
The fantasy football playoffs begin this week, and if you're a fantasy owner with his or her eyes on the championship trophy, you're going to need a quarterback who will put up big numbers. Unfortunately for you fantasy fans, McCoy is one million percent not that guy.
If you're looking to capture a fantasy football title in 2022, search the waiver wire for a better starting option in Week 15.
Colt McCoy is nothing more than a low-end fantasy option at quarterback, not the piece to a championship puzzle.
