BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 25% of leagues
ANALYSIS: With Jose Leclerc's early season struggles showing no signs of abatement, the Rangers officially removed him from the closer role earlier this week. Shawn Kelley is one of the front-runners for saves in the aftermath of that decision. The 35-year-old has pitched 12 innings thus far in 2019, with excellent ratios (1.50 ERA, 0.75 WHIP) and 11 strikeouts against zero walks.
While the veteran has only 16 career saves to his credit, he's been an effective set-up man for most of the last half-decade. Toss out his ugly 2017 season and you have to go back to 2014 to find the last time he finished with an ERA over 2.94 or a WHIP above 1.09.
Kelley has been one of the most popular adds in fantasy over the past 48 hours, but you can still grab him off the waiver wire in three-quarters of Yahoo league if you're scrounging for saves.
