76ers guard Shake Milton is a worthy consideration as a fantasy basketball waiver wire pickup heading into Week 2 of the NBA season.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 27% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Even if you don't like any of the second-unit players who are part of Philly's rotation this season, you gotta give them at least a chance because of the revamping the organization has undergone this offseason. Doc Rivers is in as the new head coach, Daryl Moorey is running the operations, and the squad feels more balanced, features more shooting, and has a new mentality that should favor secondary players.
Enter Shake Milton, who not only had a great debut game against Washington but was also incredibly hyped by Doc Rivers all preseason long. Milton came off the pine for Philly on Wednesday and dropped 19 pops on Minny while hitting 2 treys and contributing a rebound, 3 dimes, and 3 steals while avoiding turnovers entirely.
Milton went undrafted in most drafts during the past few weeks, but he could be a very nice asset to have in your fantasy roster and ready to plug and play any time. Milton averaged a lowly 9-2-2 line last season, though it must be said that he only played 20.1 MPG with a low 18.8 USG%. We'll see if Milton can keep his production up, but judging by Doc's comments and the first signs of the season, he should at least keep getting minutes and opportunities to thrive off the pine.
