BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 35% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Perhaps unsurprisingly, Sergio Romo - not trendier upside plays like Adam Conley, Drew Steckenrider, Nick Anderson, or Taysom Guerrero - has emerged as the primary ninth-inning option for Miami. He's locked down their last three save situations, with clean innings in all of those games. Overall, the veteran has four saves and though his current 6.00 ERA isn't pretty, most of that damage came in a meltdown appearance on Opening Day.
The 36-year-old Romo holds a career 2.91 ERA and 1.01 WHIP, and 75 strikeouts in 67 innings last year suggest he can still get enough whiffs to succeed in the late innings. Most importantly, though, he's a clear closer in a year where those are in short supply - and you can still grab him from the waiver wire in nearly two-thirds of Yahoo leagues.
