Calvin Johnson is a once-in-a-generation receiver, and he's aimlessly wasting his career by playing for the Detroit Lions. It's a shame, really. Johnson was once an unguardable receiver who made defensive backs look foolish when he'd put his big body in place to snag would-be interceptions. Unfortunately for Megatron and fantasy owners who thought he'd still be worthy of a first-round pick, it just isn't there. At least not in Detroit.
Johnson has only eclipsed the double-digit mark in one game this season, and now he'll face one of the best secondaries in the NFL. The Arizona Cardinals are giving up less than 200 yards per game through the air, and the Lions haven't shown me anything that would make me expect a big game from Johnson against them.
Johnson is the type of receiver who should always be in your fantasy lineup. It's as simple as that. You're just not going to sit him. However, his numbers so far are mediocre at best, and expectations should be tampered even more against a team that forced two interceptions during its only game on the road this year.
Megatron will still get his share of targets, as he's averaged more than eight catches over the last three weeks. Just don't expect a double-digit showing from him.
