Matchups We Love
WRs DK Metcalf and Jaxon Smith-Njigba
The Lions secondary has surely had a hard time stopping opposing wide receivers so far this year. Through three weeks, they have allowed the second-most fantasy points and most receiving yards (609) to the wide receiver position. As a result, both Metcalf and Jaxon Smith-Njigba are strong plays in Week 4.
Metcalf has scored over 20 PPR fantasy points in back-to-back games and is a strong WR1 this week. As for Smith-Njigba, he is a high-end WR3 against this Detroit secondary.
Matchups We Hate
QB Jared Goff
Jared Goff hasn't been a strong fantasy option in the first few weeks and currently ranks as the QB22. Unfortunately, things don't get better for him in Week 4 against the Seahawks. Seattle has allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. That defense has looked solid in 2024, so Goff should only be started as your QB2 in Superflex formats.
Seahawks RBs
Kenneth Walker III (oblique) appears set to return in Week 4 after missing the past two games. Even with Walker's return, Zach Charbonnet should still be in line for a continued role. However, it's a brutal spot for both, and neither profiles as a strong fantasy play. The Lions have been the best run defense in the NFL through three weeks and opposing running backs are only averaging 8.8 PPR fantasy points per game against that unit this season.
Jameson Williams is an interesting case heading into Week 4. In the first two weeks, he totaled over 75 receiving yards in both games. However, catching one pass last week makes him a risky play in fantasy this week. With Riq Woolen also likely on him throughout the contest, Williams is more of a WR3. Woolen ranks seventh in target separation (0.9) and sixth in yards per target allowed (3.4) this season.
Other Matchups
QB Geno Smith
Geno Smith has looked great under center with a new offensive coordinator in 2024. That has helped him finish as a top-10 fantasy quarterback in two of three weeks. Now, he faces a Lions secondary that has given up the 12th-most passing yards (709) this season. Therefore, Smith is a high-end QB2 this week.
Lions RBs
It has been somewhat of a headache to roster David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs this season. Gibbs has seen only 53% of the offensive snaps this season, while Montgomery has seen 45% of the snaps. But, it's hard to sit either in Week 4. The Seahawks are allowing over 4.3 yards per carry to opposing running backs this season.
WR Amon-Ra St. Brown
You are starting Amon-Ra St. Brown every week. You drafted him in the first round, and he has scored over 20 PPR fantasy points in back-to-back games. Even though he will likely draw the tough Devon Witherspoon assignment on Monday, St. Brown should be started in all formats on Monday.
TE Sam LaPorta
Sam LaPorta (ankle) injured his ankle last week and his status is in jeopardy for Week 4. With the Lions having a bye in Week 5, they could realistically hold him out of Monday's contest. If he plays, though, he is a low-end TE1 against the Seahawks. Seattle has allowed over 11 PPR fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends in 2024.
Update: Sam LaPorta will play in Week 4.
Notable Injuries
Kenneth Walker III (oblique) - Expected to play
Sam LaPorta (ankle) - Expected to play
