Scott Fish Bowl 2021: The King's Mock Draft Results and Insights

The Scott Fish Bowl has become the premier fantasy football super league in the industry. Created by fantasy football expert and influencer Scott Fish, it is the ultimate fantasy football mega-circuit with most admirable goals. It includes over 1,900 fantasy football analysts, celebrities and fans who compete in individual divisions and separate conferences and for the overall title. Scott’s goal in creating and running Scott Fish Bowl is to raise as much funding for charitable causes through fantasy football.

With the SFB11 drafts set to begin in early July, the crew at CBS Sports Fantasy invited me to participate in a Scott Fish Bowl Mock draft. I very much appreciated being a part of the draft, which also included Scott Fish himself. I drafted from the seventh slot, and wanted to share the results and observations here for those who may want to see how things played out and what my approaches were. Scott Fish Bowl is a TE premium, two QB flex league. The full rules and scoring are here.

Here are the full SFB11 mock draft results from CBS Fantasy Sports with another draft breakdown from Jamey Eisenberg.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2024 fantasy football drafts:

The King’s Scott Fish Bowl Mock Draft From the No. 7 Slot

    1. Josh Allen: I was a bit surprised that my No. 2 overall QB fell to me at the No. 7 spot. In a format where you can use two QBs, I could not pass on an opportunity to get one of the very best. I did strongly consider Darren Waller because of TE premium scoring, but in leagues where you can start two QBs I lean there for the elite players in tight calls.
    2. Nick Chubb: Thing started out the way I would like here, as I landed a RB1 along with a top QB1, which is how I generally like to begin my Scott Fish Bowl drafts.
    3. Matthew Stafford: He has Top 5 Fantasy QB upside this season playing with his deepest receiving crew and best coaching staff ever. I was very happy to get him as my QB2.
    4. J. K. Dobbins: He can score from anywhere on the field, and he is an ideal RB2 pick to pair with Chubb. I don’t overrate Dobbins based on his talent alone in Fantasy football this year, as volume is not what I am banking on, but more of his big-play abilities. But he was a very suitable choice at 43rd overall.
    5. Amari Cooper: He will remind us of just how explosive he can be with a healthy Dak Prescott returning. All the buzz is about CeeDee Lamb in Dallas, but I am not forgetting about Cooper.
    6. Tee Higgins: Joe Burrow will continue to throw frequently this season upon his return, and Higgins will be both a downfield and TD option. He exceeded my expectations as a rookie.
    7. Javonte Williams: As indicated here, Ryan O’Halloran of the Denver Post believes Williams will quickly emerge as the lead running back for the Broncos. That makes him a good value pick here and you may see his overall ADP rise soon.
    8. Robert Tonyan: This was one of my favorite picks of the entire draft. I almost took Tonyan two rounds earlier. He had 11 TDs last year! I am betting on Aaron Rodgers returning and for Tonyan to be a top 5 Fantasy TE again. This is a great value selection  in a TE premium format.
    9. Deebo Samuel: I was very happy to get him as a WR3. YAC demon should have a really good year if he stays healthy.
    10. Michael Pittman Jr.: He is one of my favorite breakout WR picks this year. He may become the top Fantasy wideout for the Colts.
    11. James Conner: Not a huge fan of Conner, but this is a quality RB depth pick by this point,
    12. Mac Jones: Needed a third QB and he will challenge for a starting job as a rookie.
    13. Hunter Henry: He is an injury risk and overrated, but at this spot in a TE premium format, Henry was a bargain.
    14. Russell Gage: Another one of my favorite picks from this mock. He is obviously the new No. 2 WR for Atlanta and while I don’t think he is an upside play, I expect a significant amount of volume.
    15. Tyrod Taylor: More QB depth here. Taylor obviously has a very good chance of starting many games and has some dual threat appeal. The Texans may also have to throw the ball often when playing from behind, so I will accept him as a backup in a two-QB format.
    16. Rashaad Penny: There is some sleeper potential. Penny may be getting his last chance to prove himself with the Seahawks, and if Chris Carson misses any time, Penny could actually get a chance to start at some point.
    17. Sammy Watkins: Those who follow me might be surprised to see him on my roster at all, but by this part of the draft it’s worth a shot to see if he will be useful as a possible new No. 1 WR for the Ravens, who desperately need a playmaker in the passing game.
    18. Rhamondre Stevenson: There are no firmly entrenched players ahead of him on the New England RB depth chart.
    19. Nelson Agholor: I seemed to be loading up on some Patriots, but that was not by design. Agholor was worth the flier here as we were getting very deep. He has big-play skills if the Patriots can get him the ball downfield.
    20. Dan Arnold: He was my sleeper last year, and I ended up cutting him. But there is TD potential and Sam Darnold looked for his TEs often when he was with the Jets,
    21. Cairo Santos: You can now utilize kickers in the Scott Fish Bowl this season, But I can also get one or two in free agency.
    22. Jacob Hollister: This is my deep sleeper TE. Hollister is a high effort overachiever who can overtake Dawson Knox as the top TE target in a very potent Buffalo offense.
