ANALYSIS: Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley was one of my favorite players to draft in fantasy football this year. The superstar averaged 15.6 half-point PPR fantasy points per game in 74 career contests with the New York Giants despite playing behind a poor offensive line.
Barkley was the RB12 last season, averaging 14.5 fantasy points per game. He had 347 rushing attempts for 962 yards and six touchdowns on the ground. The veteran added 41 receptions for 280 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 14 games despite catching passes from awful quarterbacks.

Fantasy players likely drafted Barkley as their RB1 with confidence this year. Therefore, the veteran should be in starting lineups every week, barring an injury. Philadelphia faces the Green Bay Packers in Brazil tomorrow night in the NFL’s first international game this season.
The Packers surrendered 20.4 fantasy points per game to running backs in 2023, the 12th-most in the league. Expect a top-5 performance from Barkley in his Eagle debut.
