ANALYSIS: Santiago Casilla has managed to put a tough month of May behind him, having thrown three scoreless innings since the calendar switched over to June. He has given up just one hit and one walk and struck out six, earning two saves and lowering his season ERA from 4.91 back on May 26 to 4.03 now. The A’s have not provided Casilla with a ton of save opportunities, but the 36-year-old has capitalized when given the chance, with ten saves earned and two blown opportunities, his last one being back on May 12. His recent performance has made him a valuable option for owners in need of saves. He may not be a top-tier option, but it appears Casilla is the go-to guy in the A's bullpen for now, and his recent performance has made him worthy of a roster spot in 12-team formats and beyond. Sean Doolittle just returned from the disabled list and presents a small threat to Casilla’s ninth inning role, but for now Casilla is the guy for the job and should be owned as such. If he is available in your league and you need saves, go ahead and pick him up.
