ANALYSIS: Shouts out to Sam Darnold for hitting voleys straight onto his haters' foreheads on a weekly basis! Darnold, he of the infamous tenure with the Jets, is now a QB1 playing in Carolina and he's turned his (still young) career around in a marvelous fashion. And if you're not rooting for Darnold to keep it up, then I don't even know what to say.

Darnold, in his first year manning the Panthers' pocket, couldn't have looked better through four weeks of play. Seriously. Sammy is currently the fifth-best fantasy quarterback of the 2021 season. Believe it, folks. Darnold is averaging a fantastic 23.7 FP per game with a volatility/deviation of just 5.9 FP per game. It's not that Darnold has reached that QB5 position on one or two single-game explosions. Far from it. Darnold has scored 5 TDs on the ground, the only quarterback with more than three such scores. He's passed for 5 TD against 3 INT so far, yes, but he's at 1,189 passing yards already while completing 68% of his total passes.

For the first time this year, Darnold avoided fumbles entirely yesterday while completing 26-of-39 passes for 301 yards and 2 passing TDs to go with 2 INTs and 2 rushing TDs on top of everything. It's been three games in a row over 300 passing yards for Darnold (he had 279 in W1), four straight finishing as a mid-level QB2 at least, and back-to-back QB1 performances including the absolute best of the Week 4 slate (pending MNF) thanks to a tasty 33.5 FP tally. Add Darnold to your roster before it's too late, no matter how your league is shaped, throw him into the QB1 slot, and forget about the position for the remainder of the season. As simple as that.
