BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 25% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Miami Marlins starting pitcher Ryan Weathers has quietly had a solid start to the 2024 campaign and is worth adding in most formats.
The 24-year-old southpaw has a solid 3.16 ERA and 1.40 WHIP across 25 ⅔ innings with a 2-2 record. However, when removing his first start where he allowed three runs in just four innings, he has an impressive 2.49 ERA and 1.25 WHIP.
Weathers showcased his ability to handle tough opponents in his recent start against the Atlanta Braves on Monday. Despite the challenge, he held his own, tossing 5 ⅔ innings of three-run ball.

While Weathers should provide stable pitching ratios, he should not be relied on for high strikeout numbers. The southpaw has tallied under a strikeout per inning with 23 this season.
The former seventh overall pick is also worth looking at in fantasy leagues because he should be in line to continue serving as the fifth option in the Marlins rotation for the foreseeable future. A.J. Puk (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day IL, and there are currently not many emerging options on the major league roster who are candidates to serve as a starter.
Weathers is a low-risk, low-investment option who should be viewed as a ratio stabilizer, not a high-octane strikeout producer.
