BALLER MOVE: Add in 15+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 9% of leagues
ANALYSIS: While the Dodgers may not need a ton of help this season, Ryan Pepiot has been a welcome recent addition to the LA rotation. A third-round draft pick in 2019, Pepiot earned his way into the top-100 prospect conversation before the start of this season, and in 75.1 IP (15 games, 13 starts) at Triple-A Oklahoma City this season, the Butler product held a 2.27 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, 3.8 BB/9, and 11.1 K/9.
In five starts (20.2 IP) for the Dodgers in 2022, Pepiot has found mixed success. He currently posts a 3.92 ERA, a win, and a 25.3% strikeout rate, yet a 1.45 WHIP, 3.3% HR rate, and 16.5% walk rate. His 5.5% XBH rate has helped to keep a decent amount of the damage in check, and in reviewing his minor league track record, he has often struggled with walk and home run allowance when transitioning to the next tier of competition before getting those peripherals in check. At only 27.5% hard contact on batted balls allowed and a history of high groundball rates that has yet to manifest in the majors, Ryan Pepiot has the tools necessary to continue improving and finish the season on an even higher note with a team that does a whole lot of winning.
