Despite being replaced by Brian Hoyer in last week's blowout loss to the Falcons, Ryan Mallet is expected to get the start yet again in Thursday's game against the Colts. So far Mallet has posted a disappointing completion percentage of 44%, with an overall quarterback rating of 46.8. He struggled to get things going against the Falcons last Sunday, passing for only 150 yards and one interception before being pulled. Brian Hoyer provided a little hope in a game that was virtually over at halftime, throwing for 232 yards and two TDs.
After being asked why he made the QB swap in last week's game, Texans Coach Bill O'Brien said, "It was 42-0. Nothing really, just made a lot of substitutions." For the time being, it appears Coach O'Brien has faith in Ryan Mallet. His starting job, however, could be on the hot seat tonight if he doesn't deliver against the Colts.
If you own Ryan Mallet in fantasy, hopefully you have other options at QB. Arian Foster should be the focal point of the Texans offense, potentially limiting how many times Mallet throws the ball.
