Ryan Fitzpatrick, (QB, MIA) - Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups

Miami Dolphins quarterback (QB) Ryan Fitzpatrick is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup to target as a free agent addition for Week 15 of the 2019 NFL season.

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues

OWNED IN: 23% of Leagues

ANALYSISRyan Fitzpatrick was really close to help Miami win its fourth game of the season. So close, in fact, that the Dolphins just missed it for one single point against the Jets this past Sunday. As incredible as it sounds, Fitzpatrick finished the day without a touchdown. No matter what, he still threw for 245 yards on 21 completions (37 attempts) but was picked once by New York. Perhaps most surprisingly, he rushed for 65 yards on seven carries, though he couldn’t score on the ground either.

We all know Fitzpatrick. He is as capable of throwing for 365 yards and three touchdowns (Week 13) as he is of finishing the day with 169 yards and an interception (Week 10). While that is a little bit crazy to handle and stomach in real-life football, Fitzpatrick is and will always be a good performer in fantasy leagues. Even in his worst games this season he has never dropped under 16 fantasy points, and his ceiling on those truly Fitzmagic-days can reach the 25-to-30 points easily.

Prior to this past Sunday’s loss, Fitzpatrick had thrown for two and three touchdowns in his last two while reaching 214 and 365 yards on 21 and 27 completions. His 21/245/0 line against the Jets aligns with those other games, only that he failed to find a receiver in the end zone for the first time in the three-game span.

Be it on me, I’d go and pick up Fitzpatrick eyes-closed. Miami is in the middle of nowhere but they’re not going to heavy-tank during the next games. Fitzpatrick is going to start ROS and the Dolphins have a very sweet fantasy-playoffs schedule. They face the Giants (26th against QBs) and the Bengals (23rd), so Fitzpatrick could be in for another two booming games next. Fitzpatrick makes for an insta-star in 2QB leagues and a great streaming option in 14-team/deeper leagues given his high floor and higher ceiling/upside any given weekend.
