Quarterback Russell Wilson will be looking for a starting job this offseason after playing out his one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024. Wilson was solid for the Steelers a season ago, throwing 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns, and five interceptions across 11 games. Those numbers helped carry Pittsburgh to the playoffs.
Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a big market for the 36-year-old veteran. That's certainly not great news for a quarterback looking to remain a QB1 heading into next season. Wilson still remains a free agent several days after the tampering has opened.
So, what are the best landing spots for Wilson in free agency? Let's dive in and look at four teams that could sign the veteran quarterback this offseason.

Pittsburgh Steelers
A reunion to Pittsburgh is definitely not out of the question for Wilson. With Sam Darnold and Justin Fields both off the board, the Steelers will have to pivot to another quarterback in free agency. Darnold signed a three-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks, and Fields signed a two-year contract with the New York Jets. That leaves the team in a rough spot currently at the quarterback position.
However, Wilson has a great chance to return to Pittsburgh on a one-year deal. He helped lead them to a 10-7 record last year, and the Steelers did improve offensively this offseason after trading for DK Metcalf. Wilson and Metcalf have also played three seasons together, where the wideout averaged 72 catches for 1,057 yards and 10 touchdowns across those three campaigns with the Seahawks.
If you're making me choose between Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers, I'm picking Russ.
Offense is built for him. Two big-play vertical outside threats. If o-line improves and run game revives, it suits him well.
Best of a bad situation. #Steelers

Therefore, this landing spot wouldn't be the worst for Wilson's fantasy value. He has two strong wideouts on the outside (Metcalf and George Pickens) and has played with both stud playmakers in his career. Still, the veteran quarterback would likely be more of a QB2 in fantasy and only a strong option in Superflex formats next year.
New York Giants
There's no doubt the New York Giants are in the market for a veteran quarterback this offseason. Despite being in a great spot to select a quarterback with the third overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Giants have been connected to both Wilson and Aaron Rodgers this offseason. So, it appears likely that the team will land one of those two quarterbacks in free agency.
That makes this landing spot a possibility for the 10-time Pro Bowler. He would be New York's QB1 next season and be a strong mentor for any rookie quarterback the team selects in the draft. Although the Giants might struggle to make the playoffs in 2025, Wilson would likely be guaranteed a starting job from Day 1.
Recalibrating a bit: Got the sense the #Titans don’t have strong Russell Wilson interest. I think his market beyond #Giants is flat. Cam Ward is definitely still in play in Tennessee. And Browns aren’t done at QB. They’re going to throw several moves at it before it’s all over.

If he lands here, he would have an elite WR1 in Malik Nabers to throw to in the passing game. Nevertheless, Wilson wouldn't really be a solid fantasy option in 2025, given the Giants' lack of weapons and poor offensive line play. As a result, the veteran would come in as more of a middle-of-the-pack QB2 in fantasy next year.
Minnesota Vikings
There's a good chance Wilson signs with one of the first two teams on this list. Both the Steelers and Giants have been in the market for a starting quarterback this offseason. Although the Minnesota Vikings already have a young quarterback in J.J. McCarthy, we shouldn't completely rule out the Vikings as a potential landing spot.
McCarthy is coming off a season-ending knee injury, and the Vikings could decide to be cautious with their franchise quarterback. If they don't believe he's ready to be the team's starting quarterback, Wilson could be a nice pivot. While this is certainly a long shot, it could become a reality if neither the Giants nor Steelers decide to pursue the veteran in free agency.
Now, this landing spot for Wilson would be interesting because there's a chance he isn't even Minnesota's starting quarterback in Week 1. If he is, though, he could be a sneaky low-end QB1 option in some fantasy leagues. Darnold just finished as the QB9 in this offense last season, and the Vikings have one of the better wide receiver cores in the NFL.
Tennessee Titans
There's a strong chance that the Tennessee Titans will select a quarterback with the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. As it stands now, Miami (FL) quarterback Cameron Ward figures to be that pick. However, the Titans could still decide to go after Wilson in free agency, given his 13-year NFL experience. The 36-year-old veteran would be the perfect mentor to a quarterback like Ward.
So, this could be a potential landing spot for Wilson in free agency. The Titans could decide to roll with the veteran for the entire 2025-2026 campaign and let their rookie sit out the whole year. If that's the case, this would be an appealing place for him to play next season. He would likely be on a one-year deal, and Tennessee revamped its offensive line this offseason by signing tackle Dan Moore Jr. to a massive contract.
So ... where do the Giants and Steelers go at quarterback now? Should Aaron Rodgers be their top target? Does Pittsburgh keep Russell Wilson (reunite him with DK Metcalf)? What about the Vikings?
Interesting stuff...

From a fantasy perspective, Wilson would not be an appealing QB1 option in most weeks. The Titans don't have the best wide receiver room, and the veteran would be more of a QB2 play in Superflex formats next season. He has finished outside the top 12 at the quarterback position in four straight years.
