ANALYSIS: First things first, Rueben Randle had to sit out the end of the Giants’ Sunday night game against the 49ers with a hamstring issue so you’ll need to keep an eye on that. He should be okay though, the Giants have an extra day to rest up with a Monday night showdown in Philadelphia on tap for Week 6, not to mention the Giants will definitely need him with Victor Cruz still out indefinitely after receiving a PRP injection in his knee. Randle has averaged six targets in the past three weeks, and has scored in two of those games. While his yardage has been underwhelming in the past two weeks (31 and 42, respectively), the potential for Randle to score is too big to leave sitting on your waiver wire.
Eli Manning and the Giants are clearly hitting their stride with offensive coordinator Bob McAdoo’s system after the first few games of year two under him, and Randle is currently the unquestioned #2 receiver in said system. The Giants face the Eagles, Cowboys, Saints, Buccaneers, and Patriots next before their Week 11 bye. Randle is not going to see a shutdown corner in any of those contests, and even if Cruz comes back at some point in there (which isn’t a given), Randle will still see plenty of targets, especially towards the red zone when they need a guy with size.
