BALLER MOVE: Add in all leagues
OWNED: 59% of Yahoo! Fantasy Basketball Leagues
ANALYSIS: Rudy Gobert, the Jazz’s French Center has recently begun to turn a few heads with insane production after the injury to Enes Kanter. Rudy Gobert is currently owned in just almost 60% of leagues but is very capable of producing Top-80 value. As of late, Gobert has proven that he is one of the NBA’s most efficient when it comes to rebounds, blocks, and FG%. Throughout his last 7 games, Gobert is posting tremendous averages of 10 Points, 1.3 Steals, 8.4 Rebounds, 66.7 FG%, and an overwhelmingly shocking 4.4 Blocks.
Gobert’s shot-blocking ability is what sets him apart from other big men on most waiver wires. The Frenchman is currently 5th in the NBA in Blocks Per 36 Minutes, as well as 5th in BLK% with 8.3%. Gobert is also one of the NBA’s best rebounders as of late. He sits in the top-35 in the NBA in rebounds Per 36 with 11.6. Advanced rebounding stats do the best job at showcasing the center’s rebounding ability. He is 45th in the NBA in DRB% (24.1%), 12th in ORB (13.9%), and 25th in TRB% (19%). Aside from blocks and rebounds, Gobert is also extremely efficient in shooting from the field. His 63.1% FG% Per 36 minutes places him 19th in the league. A flaw in Gobert’s game is his 67.4 FT%, but he only averages 2.4 FTA, so it shouldn’t be much of a concern for potential owners.
When Enes Kanter went down with an ankle sprain, Gobert was able to truly show the league his potential. His stretch of brilliance without Kanter highlighted by his 7 Blocks in a matchup against the Thunder earned him some well deserved minutes in the Jazz’s frontcourt rotation. Even with Kanter back, Gobert is still getting enough minutes for solid production in nearly all leagues. Owners better snatch up "The Gobert Report" (nickname approval pending) as soon as possible if they’re in need of rebounding, blocks, and efficiency on their roster.
