BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 1% of Yahoo! leagues
ANALYSIS: The Blue Jays recalled slugging first baseman/designated hitter Rowdy Tellez from Triple-A Buffalo a few days ago, and manager Charlie Montoyo indicated that Tellez will get regular playing time down the stretch. That's bad news for Justin Smoak owners, but it also makes Tellez an intriguing add in deeper leagues.
Tellez hit .227/.280/.436 with 14 home runs, 40 RBI and one stolen base before getting sent down in July, and while he won't contribute much in the batting average department the power is very real, as evidenced by his 90.4 mile per hour exit velocity.
Tellez hit fourth on Saturday, and if he is going to hit in the middle of a lineup that includes Vladimir Guerrero, Bo Bichette and Cavan Biggio, he should have plenty of opportunities to drive in runs.
I'd love to have him in AL-only formats, and believe he's worth a look in all formats that are 14+ team leagues or deeper.
