BALLER MOVE: Add in Very Deep Leagues
ANALYSIS: Left handed hitting second baseman Rougned Odor is certainly no Hall of Famer, but there have been more than a few Wally Pipp and Lou Gherig comparisons drawn between him and the injured Jurickson Profar. Although it's anticipated that Profar should come off the DL in mid or late June, he may or may not get his starting position back after a rather disappointing end to 2013 and a slow start to 2014. Odor's hitting numbers have been rather unimpressive throughout his brief minor league stint, but he did hit his first home run on Monday night and is 4-for-19 after his callup. He was signed at just 17 and just recently turned 20, so until one considers how much younger he is than the players around him it's tough to appreciate that he's been rather successful for his age. He has gap power and doesn't strike out much so he should put up a good average. Defensively, Odor has improved his footwork and is a very quick and aggressive player. Some scouts say he compares to Michael Young and Jose Vidro. Rougned has a very nice upside and is definitely worth a look in deep leagues if you need 2B / MI help.
