One and Done Selections - The RBC Canadian Open
In this feature, our golf staff of Joe Nicely, Spencer Aguiar, Joe Idone, Matt Miller, Byron Lindeque, and our special guest will provide their weekly golf picks every Wednesday. The purpose of this article is to present you with alternative options to consider and hopefully make your selection a much easier process weekly. With that plan in mind, let's get started!
Joe Nicely - Alex Noren
The veteran Swede has been under-the-radar excellent over the past 10 months. Noren's last missed cut came in September of last year in the first event of the fall schedule. Since that time he's a remarkable 17/17 in made cuts. His recent output has arguably been the most impressive production of that stretch. He's now logged eight consecutive top-25 finishes, including a T12 in his most recent start in the PGA Championship.
Noren's most useful trait has been his consistency in all areas of the game. Across his last 10 starts, he's gained strokes in every major category (Total, T2G, OTT, APP, ARG, PUT) and he grades out second to just McIlroy in this week's field in SG: Total (L24).

Spencer Aguiar - Sahith Theegala
Alternate - Tommy Fleetwood
I don't see much of a difference between Sahith Theegala and Tommy Fleetwood this week. I say all that as someone who has been batting nearly zero percent in these coin-flip calls this year. You can take that for whatever it is worth.
When I geared my model toward Hamilton Golf and Country Club, Theegala graded third for weighted scoring, projected approach and putting, and recent strokes gained total.
As I said, there isn't a massive difference between him and Fleetwood, but I will roll the dice with the American in Canada.
*** Update: I can't properly keep track of my players and had already used Theegala. I will pivot to Tom Kim.
Yearly Earnings - $6,252,699
Yearly Cuts Made - 16/19
Byron Lindeque - Tommy Fleetwood
We are really starting to stack these top five finishes the last few weeks, and maybe if we are content with never finding the winner, but consistently finding the first loser, maybe things can work around for us a little after a slow start.
Nobody wears a bridesmaids dress better than Tommy Fleetwood. We are getting somebody who has thrived in Canada, is one of the more accurate drivers of the ball, while possessing a really nice short game. Fleetwood is on my betting card for a T10, which he does at a 44% clip. A safe option, on a course that suits him!
