In this feature, our golf staff of Joe Nicely, Spencer Aguiar, Joe Idone, Matt Miller, Byron Lindeque, and our special guest will provide their weekly golf picks every Wednesday. The purpose of this article is to present you with alternative options to consider and hopefully make your selection a much easier process weekly. With that plan in mind, let's get started!
Joe Nicely - Luke Clanton
I've battled with myself about how sharp it is to roster an amateur as a One-And-Done pick, but at the end of the day, I feel really good about Florida State's Luke Clanton. And while he won’t actually take home the money he “earns” this week, I’ll happily bank his winnings in this contest.
The 20-year-old has been thriving while racking up sponsor's exemptions into PGA Tour events, notably logging a runner-up finish at the John Deere and a T10 at the Rocket Mortgage in the past month.
Clanton is a power merchant who is the epitome of the "next-gen golfer" who will soon be flooding the PGA Tour. He routinely touches 185-mph ball speed and had drives measured at 373 and 350 yards at the John Deere Classic earlier this month. On a TPC Twin Cities where we've seen bombers such as Matt Wolff, Cameron Champ, and Tony Finau emerge victorious, I'm willing to fire away on Clanton, despite his relative inexperience.

Mitchell hasn't lost off the tee in 18 straight starts or with his irons in over the past 14. His typically bad around-the-green play gets reduced at this venue for all the reasons I have already discussed this week, which is one of the reasons he has finished fifth in back-to-back starts at this property.
