Joe Nicely - Rory McIlroy
Alternate - Jhonny Vegas
I haven’t done the math yet, but I’m pretty sure that Spencer’s got this thing locked up. As a result, a short and sweet writeup feels in order this week.
Rory McIlroy continues to tantalize PGA fans with superlative ball striking, though there seems to be a round each week that leaves everyone scratching their heads. While the most likely scenario is that Rory shoots 72-64-67-69 and finishes tied for third this week, there’s always the lingering feeling that something special could happen.
Those special weeks have happened with less frequency over the last few years - especially in major championships - but McIlroy has been a beast throughout his career in the FedEx Cup Playoffs. Put simply, this is when I want to be all-in on this post-30-year-old version of Rory...when the money is huge and the pressure pales in comparison to that of a major championship.

Spencer Aguiar - Paul Casey
Alternate - Tyrrell Hatton
Well, last weekend couldn't have gone worse for me if I tried, as I not only got cute and changed my Kevin Na pick to Hideki Matsuyama last-minute, but I also let Andrew back into this contest with his pinpoint selection of Kevin Kisner.
While I do think I am in the driver's seat still to take home this title, my options aren't going to be anywhere near what everyone else has left on the board. For me, without giving the whole playbook away for the final week, I really only have two choices left that I mapped out pre-season that were under my "must-play" tab - one of which being Paul Casey.
I had planned to play the Englishman last week at the Wyndham Championship, although plans got derailed when he didn't even enter the event. I'm not sure Casey will walk out of the week victorious, but he ranks fourth in my model from an overall standpoint and is third from a safety perspective. That combination is good enough for me when I am looking for a payday, and it doesn't hurt matters that he ranks first over a two-year sample size in weighted proximity for this track. Good luck this week to everyone in their contests and don't be afraid to throw a hail mary if you need one coming home.

Josh Bennett - Justin Thomas
Alternate - Viktor Hovland
We have the best of the best this week, and I’ve already used most of the best players. I have a couple left though, so we will fire one of them off this week. It’s a ball-strikers week, so I’m rolling with one of the better ball-strikers on tour. Even though JT isn’t having finishes up to his standards, he’s actually hitting the ball pretty well. He has been BRUTAL with the putter and that’s what’s been killing him. He’s had a little time off and there’s no doubt in my mind he’s been working on the putting issues and will have it figured out this week. He finished 12th here in 2019 and I have a good feeling he is going to improve on that this year, given that he fixes his putting woes.

Andrew Putters - Paul Casey
Alternate - Adam Scott
Well folks we are winding down and time the throw some hail marys. Paul Casey is a great ball striker that just has to be okay with the putter. Liberty National is a course that calls for a strong play tee to green and Casey fits the bill. Casey at the very least will be a contender this week with my expectation is he has a chance to take the title home.
