Welcome back, RotoBallers, to my Rocket League DFS picks! I have been covering Counter-Strike: Global Offensive DFS as well here at RotoBaller, but today it's time to switch things up with another fast-paced and exciting eSports contest!
If you are reading this, you must be missing sports quite a bit but have found solace in DFS eSports! Rocket League is by far the closest thing we have to real sports being played right now. If you have never played or watched Rocket League, it is basically soccer being played but instead of using people, you are using cars! It is a 3v3 game and teams play a best of five series to determine the winner. Each match lasts 5 minutes long and players can rack up points by scoring goals, assists, taking shots, making saves on the net, scoring a hat trick, and becoming the game MVP (highest in-game score on the winning team).
Today I'll be bringing you my Rocket League DFS lineup picks, advice, and analysis for DraftKings contests on May 9th, 2020 (12:00 PM slate). Feel free to follow me on Twitter @rdr1634 and hit me up with any questions you might have.

Rocket League Basics
Roster construction for Rocket League contests can be a tad tricky because you have four total spots on your team with two of those being captain spots and two of those being traditional flex spots. Captain spots gain 1.5x fantasy points but also cost a lot more money so constructing your roster starts with the captain spots and building around that.
It is suggested that you at least stack 2 guys from a team that you think will go off. Other builds that can work are:
- 2-2 (Two stacks from different games)
- 3-1 (Full-stack with a one-off from a second team)
- 2-1-1 (Two-man stack with two one-off plays from other games)
Saturday Afternoon Slate - EU RLCS
- Canyons vs. Dignitas
- Endpoint vs. FCB
- BDS (+330) vs. Vitality (-550)
- CLA vs. Mouz
Favorite Stacks
FC Barcelona draws one of the better matchups on the slate if looking at recent form. Both them and Endpoint were in the RLCS Europe Spring Season 9 league and Endpoint allowed 2.09 goals per game which were the highest in the league.
They also allowed 9.23 shots per game which were in the top three for shots allowed. FCB was in the middle of the scoring pack as they averaged 1.77 goals per game and took 7.84 shots per game but limited opponents to just 1.58 goals per game.
Ronaky is the main goal-scoring threat for FCB and is a great captain selection on this slate. Flakes is the one to pair with him as he has a .62 goal per game rate and a 2.25 saves per game rate as well.
Vitality was a strong team in the RLCS Europa Season 9 as they lost to Dignitas in the Regional Championship. They will be out for retribution and they draw a good matchup against BDS who tend to create a good amount of goals and scoring chances themselves.
Vitality takes 9.53 shots per game and has a 2.27 goal per game rate. They average 1.89 assists per game which is one of the higher team assist rates on the slate.
FairyPeek is the top play on this team but is also expensive so roster construction will be important if plugging him into your lineup. Both KeyDop and Alpha are viable stacking options but also make for good value one-offs as well.
The Canyons are winners of four of their last five games as they head into the Spring Series Europa League. They were formally known as RCD Espanyol/ Stonkers and switched their name to Canyons mid-April. In the Spring Series qualifier, they posted a 2.29 goal per game average while also generating 8.71 shots per game.
Dignitas is a tough opponent as they allow 1.72 goals per game and 7.74 shots per game. This should be a tight contest but should be filled with plenty of opportunities on both sides. The Canyons have a very balanced rotation as they all have above a .65 goal per game rate while as a team, average 2.18 assists per game which is the highest assist team total per game on the slate.
With all three guys priced down, they make for great one-off plays or as a value stack with Stake offering the most value being priced at $7,000.

Captain / MVP Plays
FairyPeek is the second-highest priced player on the slate over on DK and he is one to consider paying up for on this slate. He takes 3.21 shots per game and has a .94 goal per game rate which is the third-highest rate on this slate.
FairyPeek averages .63 assists per game while also averaging 1.87 saves per game. FairyPeek is a do-it-all kind of player and could be used in all formats.
Ronaky He carries a 3.25 shot per game average and .8 goals per game rate as well. On average, he has a 425 score per game average which is the sixth-highest on the slate. He averages .51 assists per game and over 2 saves per game as well so he finds a way to fill the stat sheet.
MonkeyMoon really catches my eye due to his price point and upside that he carries. He has a 1.09 goal per game rate and takes 3.65 shots per game. Over on DK, he is just $11,600 which is a steal for the numbers that he possesses.
He has an average score of 487 which is the highest on the slate and averages 2 saves per game as well so he is another well rounded DFS option for all kinds of formats.
Player Pool (Outside of Captain/ MVP recommendations): Stake, Violent Panda, Flakes, MarcBy8, ClayX, KayDop, Alpha, Archie, Joreuz
