RIVAL Over/Under Picks – Monday, March 13, 2023

Since some players haven’t been listed yet, such as Jayson Tatum, Tyrese Haliburton, any of the Suns or Grizzlies starters, and not a single Dallas Maverick, feel free to wait a bit before cementing in any combination. The players offered have potential, but to maximize it, we need to work with our best options, most of which aren’t offered yet this early in the day.

Jrue Holiday OVER 35.72 fantasy points

Without Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks' offense runs through two people, Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton. As long as this is the case, it’s hard not to like Holiday as an Over, definitely when his projections have been dropping because of his most recent play. It’s been over a week since his streak of scoring 20 or more points and his last game proves just how much he will do regardless of scoring. Assuming his projection is somewhat reflective of his 11-point game against the Nets a couple of days ago, he still took 22 shots against the Warriors on Saturday night.

Lauri Markkanen OVER 38.38 fantasy points

Scoring close to 40 fantasy points on RIVAL won’t come easily to any player but it seems when Lauri Markkanen fails to score, he at least contributes in other areas. You can probably already tell that the theme of this article is peripheral stats, but it matters when focusing on bets on a nightly basis.

There are players that treat rebounds like the ball owes them money after not going in the hoop and it can work to our benefit more times than not. The Jazz relied on Talen Horton-Tucker last game and Markkanen had his first sub-20-point game since February 6. Even against the Heat, it’s doubtful Markkanen only scores 13 points on 22 attempts.

Anthony Edwards OVER 39.1 fantasy points

This one speaks for itself. Anthony Edwards is basically surpassing his projected line every night with points alone and he’s facing a Hawks defense that doesn’t bring much to the table outside of Clint Capela. He’s taken 50 shots over the last two games and scored 64 total points. Not great efficiency, but any improvement in that department means he passes his projection even easier than before.

De’Aaron Fox UNDER 39.8 fantasy points

This one is tough because as hard as it is to take the under on someone with De’Aaron Fox’s ability, he needs to have a spectacular game to really hit this type of line. With how much he does for this offense, the potential is always there, but he’s lining up against Jrue Holiday, and even the best struggle to play well against his defense. Fox can always have a good game, but playing against one of the league's best defenders will limit those peripheral stats that can be so valuable.
