RIVAL Over/Under Picks
You should expect the most from every team playing with their back against the wall tonight and it’s fair to say not many objective viewers saw the first round shaking out like this. This never-changing, extremely-unpredictable state of the NBA might turn off some of those type-happy mosquitos on the internet, but for fans who like watching the little guy win and close games, we’re only 16 days in and the playoff thirst has already been quenched.
Desmond Bane OVER 36.05 fantasy points
The Grizzlies can’t rely on Ja Morant like they normally would and it’s not like Desmond Bane was shying away from the spotlight anyway. Even though the Lakers don’t have much answer for him on defense, it really hasn’t mattered this far into the series.
Until the trend changes and more Grizzlies players start performing, Bane is going to be the lone work-house option while Ja Morant plays injured.
Bane led the Grizzlies with 36 points on 29 attempts with Morant second only scoring 19 points and taking 14 shots. The upside looks good for Bane regardless who is available for Memphis.
Gabe Vincent OVER 20.61 fantasy points
As long as Gabe Vincent plays consistently he’ll continue to get a majority of the minutes in Miami’s backcourt. His defense is invaluable and he offers enough playmaking to where we can actually benefit from it.
Defensive stats will always be considered rare and unreliable, but throughout the regular season Vincent sporadically would post big games and the combination of points and steals can easily push players over the edge.
He has the capabilities to hit shots and space the floor, so as long as he’s taking upwards of 10 or so attempts, his upside is worth the investment.
Kevin Huerter UNDER 24.06 fantasy points
Even though Kevin Huerter played a good chunk of minutes last game, Davion Mitchell is ahead on the depth chart.
While some players can make all-shooting, no-defense work for them, any playoff team will over-expose defensive weaknesses to the point where it’s better to just not play that particular player.
This is happening right now with Huerter and his minutes have gone down every game as as result.
Jalen Brunson OVER 37.84 fantasy points
Jalen Brunson has his hands all over this series and his projected remains below 40 fantasy points. He’s taken at least 17 shots in all four games, scoring 20 or more points while securing at least one steal to top it off.
It’s hard to say he’s doing a little of everything when in reality he is doing a lot of everything. The Knicks knew they had their go-to guy before the playoffs started and this is a high-quality reflection of just how great of a season this has been for Brunson.
He’ll continue to thrive and in an elimination game we should see some fireworks.
