Welcome to another edition of RIVAL Fantasy picks for MLB! We will focus on two fantasy contest types offered on RIVAL - Challenges and FantasyBook (Over/Under) for MLB games on Wednesday, July 26th.
Challenges are H2H matchups between two MLB players. You choose which one you think will score the most fantasy points, then place a bet to back it. If another user decides on the other player at any time before the contest, the bet is on! If your player scores more fantasy points, you win 1.8x your bet. FantasyBook is more traditional over/under DFS prop picks - whether you think pitchers and hitters will score Over or Under the set lines, and choosing your amount. You can parlay multiple picks together to vastly increase the juice (ex: 3 picks = 5x your bet).
RIVAL Fantasy offers some of the industry's best and easiest-to-win MLB DFS games. There are no large-field tournaments filled with sharks where you have to get lucky to place. At RIVAL Fantasy, you're not playing against other people; you're just playing against the projections. Check here for the updated rules and scoring.

RIVAL Challenge Picks
Geraldo Perdomo OVER Lane Thomas
Someone loves Lane Thomas today as I can see a whole bunch of challenges posted with him already. I am not sure this is the best matchup for Thomas, as he's been pretty mediocre against RHP while he has been elite against lefties. He could steal multiple bases and beat you, but I really like Perdomo atop the lineup for the Snakes today against Jack Flaherty. He's been great at getting on base ahead of Marte, Carroll, and Walker and I think he could have a multi-hit game in store today and score some runs for this really good Arizona offense.
Hogan Harris OVER Jake Irvin
I think this is a super sneaky bet that I am interested in making today. Harris is coming off his best start of the season, having tossed six solid frames against the Astros while striking out six and allowing just two runs on four hits. He gets a Giants team that has been horrendous offensively of late and while they are usually pretty dangerous against lefties, they were handled by Oakland's Ken Waldichuk last night. Jake Irvin has the much tougher assignment against the Rockies, an offense that is showing some signs of life lately even away from Coors Field.

RIVAL Over/Under Picks
Tony Gonsolin (UNDER), Christian Yelich (OVER), Gavin Williams (OVER)
Say it with me, friends, "Tony Gonsolin is a pretender!" Gonsolin's SIERA of 4.89 is almost a full run higher than his ERA and he is also a reverse splits pitcher who is going to face six righties in the Toronto lineup. I think the Jays knock him around a bit today and I don't see him lasting long enough or striking out enough Toronto hitters to clear 16 fantasy points.
Yelich has a nice matchup against Ben Lively at home. Lively has poor splits against lefties and Yelich has already had success against him going 4-11 with two doubles and a home run. He's also a threat to swipe a bag and a sub-9 projection for him just feels too low as he will lead off for the Brew Crew today.
Gavin Williams is having an uneven rookie campaign, but his two best starts have both come against the Royals. He's managed 13 strikeouts over 12.2 innings in those starts while allowing just three runs on nine hits.
Cody Bellinger (OVER), Juan Soto (OVER), Jack Flaherty (UNDER)
Bellinger let me down yesterday against Kopech, but I am going right back to him today against Lance Lynn who has even worse splits against lefties than Kopech. Consider that Lynn has allowed 50% hard contact to lefties and a pretty bad 14.7% barrel rate and you can see why I like Belli's chances of hitting one pretty far today.
Juan Soto has been in solid form of late and he gets to pick on Johan Oviedo of the Pirates today. Soto brings some solid numbers against RHP this season as he's now up to a .431 wOBA and .286 ISO to lead the Padres.
I know Flaherty ran off three solid starts in a row, but he also ran into trouble against the Cubs his last time out and I am not convinced he's back to his old form from a few seasons ago just yet. Arizona presents a challenge to RHP as they have hit righties hard this season and they don't strike out that often. Add in Flaherty's walk issues and I think he stands a good chance of struggling against the Snakes in this one.
Good luck, RotoBallers, and let's make some money over on Rival today!
