Remember when Rick Porcello came to baseball as a precocious 20-year-old who won 14 games for the Detroit Tigers? 2009 is so long ago. Now he's fresh off a season where he finished with a 9-15 record and an ugly 4.92 ERA. He probably spent some time staring at the mirror, wondering where that youngster went. The good news is that now he's pitching where he should in the rotation: third. That's because David Price is now the No. 1 starter and he'll be behind Clay Buchholz. He's not going to match up against the tougher pitchers and he should benefit from Boston's hitting attack. The man's still a workhorse, averaging 200 innings a season for his career. Yeah, his train wreck '15 season does leave some people skittish. Two of our writers didn't even rank him in the Top 300+ players. One of them did share my sentiment, ranking him around No. 258. This is a case of a low-risk, high-reward selection. Pick him late and watch how he does early in the season. If he does well, great, you got a steal. If not, jettison him and scour the waiver wire. He could see a winner looking back in the mirror.
