BALLER MOVE: Start
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB3/FLEX
ANALYSIS: New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson (foot/personal) is a solid runner of the football and is a focal point of the offense... when the Pats aren't getting blown out. He put up a dud last game, largely due to negative game script situations. He had just seven carries for 18 yards and two catches for seven yards.

New England's opponent in Week 8, the New York Jets, hasn't been able to put it together on offense yet, despite an elite array of weapons at RB and WR, Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, and a great (on paper) offensive line. They've committed costly mistakes with regularity all season.

There's a much better chance for a closer contest in Week 8, so Stevenson has a much better chance of a bigger workload. The Jets have a tough run defense, but they were gashed by RB Najee Harris last week, so they're not invincible. The former OU Sooner has had excellent moments in the NFL as well.
Consistency has been an issue, but he's had a terrible offense to work with until just two weeks ago when New England decided they wanted to at least try to win some games and named rookie QB Drake Maye the starter. They've been a much better unit since then. Mac Jones, Bailey Zappe and Jacoby Brissett are not starting-caliber QBs.
Stevenson should be started for his ceiling. He doesn't have much significant competition for rushing volume from his fellow Pats RBs Antonio Gibson and JaMycal Hasty, though it's annoying to see them taking some passing-game work. That fact keeps the lead back out of the RB2 conversation for now.

The wide receiver position has an advantage over the running back position in PPR scoring formats, typically. Not every WR is like this, though, […]
