Super Bowl LVIII is only a couple of days away. The San Francisco 49ers will battle the Kansas City Chiefs for the right to be called world champions.
While Sunday will be Brock Purdy’s first Super Bowl appearance, it will be Patrick Mahomes’ fourth in his six-year career as the starting quarterback. The superstar has a 2-1 record in the Super Bowl, with the lone loss coming against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Patrick Mahomes’ Super Bowl LIV Stats
Mahomes’ first Super Bowl was during the 2019 season, his second year as the starting quarterback. The superstar faced the 49ers, pulling out the 31-20 victory. He completed 61.9% of his 42 pass attempts for 286 yards and two touchdowns. Mahomes did have two interceptions, but made up for it on the ground.
The former Texas Tech star had nine rushing attempts for 29 yards and a touchdown against San Francisco. However, he had an all-time bad beat on his rushing total. The over/under on his rushing total was 29.5 yards. Mahomes had 44 rushing yards, but took three knees to end the game for -15 yards, ending the game just under the 29.5 total.

Patrick Mahomes’ Super Bowl LV Stats
After a double-digit victory over the 49ers in Super Bowl LIV, Mahomes returned to the big game the following year. However, he faced the greatest quarterback of all time instead of Jimmy Garoppolo. More importantly, the Buccaneers defense completely shut down the superstar quarterback in that game.
Mahomes completed 53.1% of his 49 pass attempts for 270 yards, zero touchdowns, and two interceptions. He had five rushing attempts for 33 yards but was kept out of the end zone. Kansas City lost 31-9 in Tampa Bay, making it the first game that Mahomes’ offense didn’t score a touchdown in his NFL, college, and high school career.

Patrick Mahomes’ Super Bowl LVII Stats
Last year’s Super Bowl was an all-time classic between the Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. Mahomes and Jalen Hurts went back and forth, dealing one jab after another. The former Texas Tech star had only 27 pass attempts, his lowest total in any Super Bowl. However, he completed 77.8% of his pass attempts for 182 yards and three touchdowns.
The superstar had six rushing attempts for 44 yards in the game, including a 26-yard run, both his highest total in a Super Bowl. More importantly, Mahomes finished third in completion rate (77.8%), seventh in passing touchdowns (three), and first in fewest sacks taken (zero) among 31 Super Bowl MVP quarterbacks.
