BALLER MOVE: Start in 14+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR3/FLEX
ANALYSIS: It's been fun to watch Rashid Shaheed transition from a random deep threat as a rookie to the true No. 2 receiver in New Orleans last year. Despite missing two games, he finished as the overall WR44, contributing 46 catches, 719 yards, and five touchdowns.
This season, Shaheed will look to build on some of his best underlying metrics from 2023. Most notably, he had an ADOT of 14.6 last year, ranking 10th among NFL wide receivers. He was also incredibly efficient when called upon, delivering 2.07 fantasy points per target (17th) and a production premium of +12.5 (12th).

Shaheed is now preparing for a favorable Week 1 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. Managers shouldn't overthink this clash with one of the NFL's weaker teams. Even though the Panthers were quietly strong against receivers last year and a positive game script is possible in Week 1, the Saints will likely keep their foot on the gas pedal for at least the first three quarters, which means that Shaheed has plenty of opportunities to make a splash downfield.
Don't be surprised if the Saints dial up some big plays to Shaheed early and often, allowing them to set the tone right out of the gate. He may not be a target hog this year, but he has big-play potential and should deliver enough production to make him a high-upside WR3/FLEX in 14-team leagues.

The wide receiver position has an advantage over the running back position in PPR scoring formats, typically.
