Rashard Higgins (WR, CLE) - Week 7 Waiver Wire Pickups

ANALYSIS: Let's get rid of the bad things first: Rashard Higgins has played just three games, his usage has been rather paltry, and he's stuck in an offense that boasts two of the best rushers and two of the best receivers in the league. Cool. Now let's forget about that, flip the page, and focus on the good things.

After a one-target effort in W1 and a goose-egg in W2, it made sense for Cleveland to straight scratch Higgins from its active roster in Weeks 3 and 4. After that, though, Higgins has played in 40 and 34 of the team's snaps in the last couple of weeks (a much more healthy 58% of all snaps) scoring a rather nice 12.1 and 8.3 PPR points in those two games. On a very limited usage, Higgins has caught 5 of his 6 targets through Week 6 for 53 yards, and he has scored a touchdown in each of his last two games.

That's a fluke, of course, as Higgins is not going to find the end zone weekly with the likes of Odell Beckham Jr., Jarvis Landry, and Austin Hooper around in the receiving corps and Kareem Hunt (and Nick Chubb when he gets back) also being part of the offense.

With that in mind, though, everybody fantasy GMs and defensive players) seem to be absolutely forgetting about Higgins' presence on the field. He's Cleveland's WR3 these days with KhaDarel Hodge put in IR, and although he's nothing more than a super-deep "what-the-heck" FLEX flier, he could still be valuable for needy GMs in deeper format leagues.
