BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 6% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert had a solid fantasy day in Week 8, despite his teammate, fellow running back Tevin Coleman, stealing the headlines. Coleman had a total of 118 yards and four touchdowns in the game against the Panthers. Mostert, meanwhile, had nine rushes for 60 yards and a touchdown.
Mostert benefited, as did Coleman, from an injury to Matt Breida (ankle), who missed a portion of the game, but still had a total of 12 touches, including 11 carries. Breida is currently questionable for Thursday's Week 9 matchup against the Cardinals.
Mostert is clearly the third most valuable fantasy running back in the San Francisco offense, but he should be owned in all leagues of 12 teams or deeper given how prolific the San Francisco rushing offense is, and the fact that head coach Kyle Shanahan likes to split up touches amongst his running backs. If Breida ends up missing Thursday's game, Mostert is a must-start RB2 in all formats given the favorable matchup and the likelihood of him receiving double-digit touches. If Breida suits up, Mostert is still worth considering as a starter, but would be more of a flex option in leagues of 12 teams or deeper.
