ANALYSIS: Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert has been one of the top surprises this season. The veteran running back was expected to lose his starting job before the end of September. Instead, Mostert is the RB2 for the year, averaging 17.1 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.
The former San Francisco 49er has 131 rushing attempts for 691 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2023, averaging 5.3 yards per attempt. He also has 20 receptions for 158 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Furthermore, Mostert has more touchdowns (13) than the entire New York Jets offense (nine).
Ironically, the veteran running back faces the Jets in the first-ever Black Friday matchup. While he is nursing knee and ankle injuries, Mostert hasn’t missed a game this season and should play on Friday against the Jets.
New York has one of the top pass defenses in the NFL. However, their run defense is below average. They have surrendered 21.4 fantasy points per game to running backs, the 10th-most in the NFL. The Jets have also given up at least 119 rushing yards to running backs in three of four games since their bye week.
